operate in a range of environments such as day and night different terrain and weather conditions and under a simulated operational threat environment

effectively use night fighting equipment in accordance with applicable procedures including OHampS while working as part of a team

Competency should be demonstrated over time in a range of contexts The operational activity is to take place over time allowing the individual to be assessed in a number of realistic operational scenarios

Context of assessment

Competency should be assessed in a replicated operational threat environment The person should be exposed to the extremes of the operational environment under physical and mental stress The context of assessment is simulated due to the nature of this high risk environment

Method of assessment

In a public safety environment assessment is usually conducted via direct observation in a training environment or in the workplace via subject matter supervision andor mentoring which is typically recorded in a competency workbook

Assessment is completed using appropriately qualified assessors who select the most appropriate method of assessment

Assessment may occur in an operational environment or in an industryapproved simulated work environment Forms of assessment that are typically used include
